Good lord, no wonder I feel so broke if a $400k+ income thinks of himself as "average middle income." Our gross household income for a family of 4 is about $120k.

I make a million per year; spouse makes $2 million; kids too. The pets make $500k; vegetables make about $25k each. But we still feel middle class. Do you envy us, or do you think I should pressure the vegetables to stop slacking off? :-)

Thanks for asking. That was our third home purchase. We spend more of our time in Monte Carlo. We just keep a little 10000 square foot pied-a-terre in NoVA.

Wow that guy's a trip.

"Texas is ONLY last in one category."

I'm not sure how NEA made up those high school graduation numbers. By the way, NEA uses objective random testing of high school students for their rankings. I would know because I was randomly chosen to be tested. They didn't brainwash me before hand to do bad on the test since I live in a conservative state like Virginia either.

Maybe the high percentage of all those low-paying part-time jobs and high percentage of uninsured Texans are just fudged numbers too?
