They are constantly knocking at my door and its really annoying: home repair (roofing, siding, windows), lawn care, driveway repair, home alarm system installation, pest control companies, etc. They always start with "We're doing some work for one of your neighbors and since we are already here we want to offer you...".

I feel like it has been worse this Summer than ever before, but maybe I'm just getting older and more impatient.

I hope you guys are ready for the political solicitations.

With the 10th district's Congressman Wolf retiring, and it being a swing district, both the Democrats and Republicans will be knocking on a lot of doors in Manassas, Ashburn, Sterling, Herndon, Leesburg, and McLean.

I hope they don't forget me out in Middleburg!! The political volunteers are even more fun to play with than the LDS kids. One would think that, if you volunteer to go knocking on doors for a candidate, then you would have some knowledge on issues besides the campaign provided one liners. Usually not the case. I can (and do) take them down to the ground in discussions on the issues. I think most end up just going home, and not finishing their route. The fun part is that I can play both sides........

Oh...ok. That makes sense. I was thinking, "Something, Something School" or some type of collection for disease research. Doh!

We've never had them come to our door. We do get people pushing home improvements or tree services.

They can be pretty annoying. It seems like it's almost always home repair related, maybe because my townhouse complex is pretty old. They always seem to come on the weekend when our toddler is napping, and of course we have a dog that barks like crazy whenever someone rings the doorbell. On one hand I understand they are just people trying to earn a living for whatever company they work for, but I don't want to hear it.

If I need a new roof or windows, I'll call businesses. I don't need them soliciting. If I did need work done, I'd probably write off the companies that have been coming around. I get annoyed by the people at the mall kiosks who approach people too. I see you. If I'm interested I'll stop.

Or the DSL kids, who have a thing for outdated technology. Always going on about their PalmPilots and their iMacs.
