I am taking a new job in the Tysons Corner area (Towers Crescent Dr, Vienna, VA 22182) and I am looking for a 2BHK apartment in the near by area and ready to pay between $1500-$1700. My top priority is to have less commute time, based on my research is renting an apartment in Falls Church or Fairfax a good option for a normal around 20 mins commute?

I don't rent nor live in this area but I cannot imagine renting a 2 br apt in this area is even remotely possible with this budget. Maybe a room to rent but this is a pretty low budget for the area. Try the below link as it does show some apts possibly in the range you are looking at.

Wow, Bigfoot--you're a real early bird! Thought I was the only one posting before sunrise.

OP: He's right. Lose a bedroom or add $1000.

Early? I'd been up 2 hours before posting this.

Thanks Guys. Bigfoot I followed your link and do see some of the apartments in Falls Church 22043 area where 2 BHKs are available for 1750-1800. Can you please tell me how long it could take to commute to Tysons Corner through Rout 7 if I am staying in Falls Church 22043, how good is the Falls Church area.

It shouldn't take you longer than 20 mins.

If you find a 2BR in that price range it's because you'll have mice, roaches, bad maintenance, and probably sketchy neighbors.

Route-7 would not likely be a good choice. Back roads depending on where in Falls Church you might be should end up being a better bet, but a trip of five miles might still take you 45 minutes to complete.

Of course it shouldn't, but door-to-door it will be up to twice that anyway.

22043 is not Seven Corners. It's Idylwood and areas east and west that lie between Falls Church and Tysons/McLean.

Check the commons of mclean, they have been a lot less expensive than the high rises. From there you can take the back roads to get to Towers Crescent, but even from FC, it wont take you more than 10-15 minutes to get to that part of Tysons, and you have a few bus options too.
