I have been living with heat pumps for many years. I get them serviced once a year. I have an appoint for my yearly service when the company called and stated that they would have to reschedule due to the fact that it has been too warm to do the maintenance. I have never hear that the temp needs to be right. Am I getting shuffled by the company? or does weather determine maintenance? I have had my gas furnace on a couple of times just to get the chill out. Both heat pumps have worked all summer cooling and one heat pumps has been turned to heat for a couple hours again for the chill. I would like to call them on this, if it is not true.
Thanks for any help or advise.

When it is warm outside there is not enough of a difference between the temp of the inside air and the temp of the outside air to evaluate the heat mode of the unit. I suspect the "chill" you mentioned was at night and not during a time when getting a technician in would be practical.
