Anyone have a lead on who will buy the ExxonMobil building in Merrifield? I have heard that Inova might be interested but I wouldn't be surprised if a larger company from Maryland crossed the river.

Yes the only rumor was in the WP a few months ago of nearing an agreement with Inova. Unclear to me if that would entirely remove the $100+m property from the tax rolls or not

Sure hope that happens; I think it's a no-brainer. Beautiful wooded campus, two (I think) large towers of probably high-end offices, and right across the street from the existing hospital.

I don't know if INOVA needs that much land at that premium price. 117-acres!!!!!!
That's more land than Tysons 1 and 2.

They could build a S-load of $900,000 houses in there. Throw in a Wegman's, a Ledo's and a Starbucks and put a fork in it!

This is going to be a record-setting sale.

Would that be good or bad for the area?

That's great! Do you know if they plan to clear the whole site, keep the buildings, keep just the trees but level the buildings, or what?

For Fairfax County, is Inova any better than the FBI on the Exxon Mobil campus? - Washington Business Journal
