Recent land use development in Bailey's - the Board of Supervisors deferred a vote on Bailey's Gateway Project until later this month. I suspect it will be approved.

I try to be active in community meetings, public hearing, and local message boards. Development in Seven Corners and Bailey's has been contentious, to say the least.

I agree with your comment "Development in Seven Corners and Bailey's has been contentious, to say the least. "

It seems like so much fighting and so little progress.

From your experiences is there much to look forward to in the coming years?

My condo value has been underwater for years I wish things would improve.

What year did you buy? That might have something to do with it. And, condos just don't appreciate like houses do in this area, in my experience.

It is more difficult to redevelop Bailey's than other parts of the county, because it has a large residential population, is a gridlocked nightmare, and is not all that well-served by public transportation. Things to look forward to? I don't know. I always have hope. We need better public transportation, we need to be more pedestrian friendly, we need better code enforcement, we need the county to not just make hundreds of pages of comprehensive plans, and not adhere to a word of them, because then those comprehensive plans might as well be fire kindling.

I am extremely surprised about the low apartment prices! I mean it is a great location 10-15 minutes driving to DC, 20 minutes to Fairfax, 20 minutes to Tysons Corner. It is also right next to Arlington where the condo prices are triple. I really have no idea why the condo prices are these low.

It is a snarled mess of traffic much of the time (outside of rush hour, and during), there is no fixed-rail public transportation, it isn't very pedestrian-friendly, there's a high concentration of low-income multi-family housing, and a lack yuppie-oriented amenities - all which contribute to prices being lower.

This seems very accurate to me.

It also seems like there are those that do NOT want change in the area and are against any attempts at develpment
