I'm just curious since there's so many folks in this area. I do have another question as well, how long have you or your family been here?

My child, a freshman in high school, is a native.

I've been in the area for about 22 years.

31 years (pretty much my entire life). You seem preoccupied by thoughts of landed gentry by the way. What difference does it make how long someone has been here. People who are here, or in America as a whole, all want the same thing: Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness.

My dad (New England native) landed here upon discharge from the Navy in 1946. He settled in the untamed frontier town of Annandale. He and mom lived the rest of their lives in the house he built (with his own hands).

I came along in 1951 and except for a few brief stints elsewhere for my employer, have lived here my whole life....for about the last ten in the house my father built.

I was born and raised in NoVA. Lived there 27 years before moving to Southern CA. Have no intentions of moving back

you won't ever be able to find out how many natives live in NoVA by asking an internet forum.

You do have a point, I should've worded my sentence better. I'm just curious about how many natives there are on this forum.

I'm a DC native fam here has been here (40+ years) fam migrated here from somewhere else. The only true natives are native americans but yes this area has rapidly grown and developed and just gotten fatter and fatter like a fat rich cat. It attracts a lot of people looking for jobs and wealth thus making this area extremely competitive and stressful. That stress shows in the faces and personality of a lot of people who live here.

Family dates to about 1840 in Fairfax County. Before that 1790 in DC. Am I approved?
