There was a Bojangles on Columbia Pike in Arlington in the 80's.

It closed after a few years, so I suppose the locals were underwhelmed with the concept....

I think, around that time, the family-owned Peruvian chicken places started up and shortly thereafter, became quite popular and remain so today.

Oh yeah, no Bojangles is a match for El Pollo Rico in VA Square.

There's a Peruvian chicken place in Ranson, WV called "El Pollon". I hear that it's a pretty good place!

There's a Boston Market in Hagerstown near Sams Club.

Bojangles is ok, but not that excited.

I'm waiting for a Red Robin! I was excited it finally made it to Hagerstown, but I'm not really impressed with their tiny mall location. I'd love a normal free-standing one in Winchester like all of Northern Virginia

+1 vote on Sharp Shopper as a great place to find unexpected food deals, often on brand names, organic, GMO-free, and many, local PA/Amish cheeses, meats, etc. Don't let the lame logo scare you...it's worth a look. A few months ago they had something like an 10 pack of IZZE organic soda for $4.99..that's cheaper than Costco. Now one of my favorite places for cheap groceries. No wonder the place is always a zoo. Closed Sunday.

Next, head over to Food Maxx "International Market" right across the street at 1107 Berryville Ave. They have amazing fresh produce and hand-cut herbs with aisle after aisle of international foods all very organized (Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Jamaican, etc.) I haven't tried the butcher, but they also have a lot of fresh & live seafood. A great place to explore new foods, seasonings, and many vegetables that you will never find in a Martin's or Food Lion. They probably have 50 different types of rice, for example...check it out.

Right in downtown Winchester is Aroma Deli--great rotisserie chicken with bold flavors. The owners are very sweet people too.

Another I just visited is Peru's Chicken in the Opequon center on Valley Ave. You wouldn't expect a fast-serve authentic restaurant in there, but they have some huge burritos, burgers, and more.

LOL. I can't believe this has gone on 4 pages. Bojangles is a pretty crappy place, even for fast food. I've tried it twice now when I go see my daughter in NC and I'm not sure why I went the 2nd time. Now Popeye's and their fresh biscuits can't be beat.
