Hey everyone,

I posted a while back about a relocation and was in need of suggestions for where to live. Thanks to a realtor and all of your great comments and suggestions, we found a lovely TH to rent here in the 22030. Based on some seriously mind bending information on someone else's post, I believe we are in that "third" Fairfax, the part that's not the city but is still Fairfax but not just the county. Whatever.

Anyway, now that we are all officially here and moved in (as of last weekend!) I need to get us set up with all of that fun stuff a family needs. We have Cigna insurance and while I know I can look on their site for which physicians are considered in network, what I need are actual recommendations. I need to start with a pediatrician, an general or internal med doctor, and a dentist.

I'm also looking for preschool recommendations. Obviously I'd like something near by, but a Google search isn't going to tell me as much as those who actually have their kids in a place can. Thank you all for your comments, I'm sure you'll be a gold mine once again!

We just left Fairfax (22032) a few months ago - lived there 5 years with kids now aged 2, 4, and 6. For peds, (we have cigna insurance as well) we used Virginia Pediatric and Adolescent center. They have 2 locations - we used the one in Springfield, b/c it was across the street from my kids preschool - Prince of Peace Lutheran school. I also liked Accotink preschool, which is near there as well. Took us years to find a dentist we liked - but ended up very happy with Dr. Fox, in Burke. Kids went to Dr. Leaf, also in Burke.

Virginia Pediatric Group (apparently different than that mentioned by alibaba with similar name). Convenient to Herndon and Fairfax offices, great doctors. Our preschool is in Ashburn and dentist in Arlington, so will demur on those! Welcome to the neighborhood

I had to check our pediatrician website and it looks like they accept Cigna: cma - Welcome I highly recommend them. We've been going to them since we moved to the area almost 8 years ago. I have a child with special needs and they have been wonderful in providing medical care whenever I've needed them.

For primary care, we go to Internal Medicine and Allergy Associates - Home in Burke. They have provided excellent care for 8 years. I like that it's easy to get an appointment and they are prompt in returning calls.

We don't have dental insurance. I see Dr. Bertman in Burke and like him, but we pay out-of-pocket.

I also use Virginia Ped and Adol. center (the Fair Oaks office). We've been very happy with them.

For preschool we had good experiences with Spring-Mar Co-op (if you like the idea of a co-op) and also Living Saviour Preschool (right on 123). It was a great school and lots of kids from our local elementary went there also, which was helpful in Kindergarten. We do Kramer and Bunin for dentists (Bunin, actually - she's Kramer's daughter).

We also go to Dr. Kramer and Dr. Bunin for pediatric dental services. Both of our kids attended Burke Presbyterian Preschool and we think the world of them: very nurturing environment and focused on child's holistic development. The fact that they have very low turnover among staff also shows how happy they are to work there. The director is fabulous.
