Default Relocation info-schools

My husband just took a job at the Pentagon and we will be relocating (my 2 girls and myself) at the end of the school year. Both of my girls (one is 11 and one is 4) are in a Montessori school and always have been. We'd like to keep our younger girl in a Montessori school in Va. and are looking for some good public schools, alternative/magnet schools, for our middle school aged daughter. We are beginning our relocation "search" with schools and would like to live near them, as well as within a reasonable commute distance to the Pentagon. Any help is greatly appreciated! Because we are flexible about locations, the search is overwhelming.
