You need to make the arrangements before December 24, or you plan to have it on December 24?

If you plan to have it on December 24th, that's Christmas Eve, and a Thursday. You might want to rethink that plan.

That's absurdly large for a baby shower. That's more like a wedding. And you don't say if you need catering or not. The easiest thing to do would be to try hotels. Many do weddings and conferences.

Many churches rent out large rooms for things like this. But yes, what a large group for a baby shower. My daughter had 20 there and I thought that was large.

The real question: Just how dirty is this baby?

This sounds like the people who plan their weddings on a holiday or holiday weekend and then justify it by saying "well we are all in one place anyway so we might as well have it then!" Awful idea. People have their own Christmas Eve traditions and don't need an unrelated party to boot.

And it's bad enough that restaurants are sometimes open on Christmas Eve but to make them host a party too? This just seems like bad planning. No church or public space like a community center would be available. If it is a morning, you may be able to rent out a restaurant or part of. I know Clyde's does. But suggestions would also depend on budget and fanciness level which you don't indicate. Clyde's would be well over $1600 before drinks for example.

There are some folks who don't celebrate Christmas.

In a group that size, chances are there are people who do, but that's really beside the point. The point is trying to find a venue for that day or expecting people to travel for it around that time.

I have to agree that is a large crowd.

Ask around and see if anyone has access to a party room in a condo or apartment building.

Exactly. And I wasn't even talking only about the guests. In all likelihood the people working at the event do celebrate the holiday.
