I currently live in Navy Yard but I'm thinking about moving to Rosslyn next year for a couple of reasons. One of my biggest reasons is because my office is in Dupont Circle and living in Rosslyn would be one metro stop away to my office. Also, I can save a little on my rent and also save about 2% on my income taxes by moving to VA. I've done a little bit of research on NOVA and Rosslyn and Falls Church are high on my list. I'm in my mid-30's so I could care less about nightlife and all that which is why I'm staying away from Courthouse and Clarendon as those areas are filled with young and wild people. Is Rosslyn a good choice to live in? Older more mature crowd than Clarendon? Any other suggestions in VA that wouldn't be a long commute whether driving or taking the metro?

Yes, Rosslyn is definitely more mature than Ballston, VA Square, Clarendon, and Courthouse.

Hopefully youre not looking at River Place because I have heard/seen some very bad things there.

Another benefit is that the 38B or Circulator Bus can get you to Farragut (walkable to Dupont) when Metro Rail sucks which is like everday now.

Target is opening in a week and there are great fast casual places to eat so thats very convenient.

A completely dull and ugly area in my opinion but if you want quiet, in Virginia and close proximity to DC there's really no better option.

I don't see the "one Metro stop" deal between Rosslyn and DuPont Circle. I suppose if you had a Georgetown connection, you could double up on the GUTS shuttle to get over to Farragut North. Seems iffy though...

Not a lot of street life in Rosslyn, but I used to walk across the Key Bridge to Georgetown all the time when I lived there. Now not saying Rosslyn is Paris in Spring, but it really is hard to match the beauty of all those Clarendon 23 year olds in spandex shorts heading into DC.

No. Is it a better option? I've been thinking about Merrifield (Mosaic District) and Tyson's Corner as well.

I would also consider the Penrose neighborhood in Arlington. It is cheaper than Rosslyn and more off the main drags of Arlington but very close to 395 so not a bad commute to Navy Yard.
