Oops -- we're not picnic people. We tend to eat at the vineyard. Quatro Goomba has yummy pizza and frozen slushies

Also Notaviva has beautiful views and music? Just be very careful pulling out of Sagle Road onto Route 9. That entrance is quite dangerous.

Personally didn't care for the atmosphere at Sunset Hills -- people were too snooty, the building is hot as Hades and incredibly noisy. At Bull Run, the lines (inside and food trucks) were insanely long -- understaffing seemed to be a big problem. Cana seemed to flow the best; live music on the deck and lovely landscaping.

I don't think any will let you bring your own wine.

Just get a list and start checking them off!

Willowcroft, a charming venue with good wine is off of Rt 15, as are a few others in the area such as Loudon Valley and Breaux. You could make a Sunday afternoon of it. Loudon has cheese and baguettes, and a great view of the hills. AT any one of these wineries, pick up a map of the wineries in the area. NOVA is loaded with good winemakers.....

Many favorites already mentioned. Here are a few more:

Twin Oaks Tavern Winery. Nice atmosphere, lots of decks with tables, gorgeous view. Wine slushes in summer, mulled wine in fall/winter.
Twin Oaks Tavern Winery

Winery 32. Nice deck with a fair amount of tables. Lovely view. Food available. Nice peach wine.
Winery 32 - Home

The Vineyards and Winery at Lost Creek. Spacious grounds. Picnic tables. Food available. Go for the Provenance.

Once you have the pizza at Quattro Goomba's winery you will make this a regular stop. Especially with the brewery next door.
