Red face Summer Camps?

I have been looking at the many opportunities in the NoVa area (particularly McLean) for a summer camp for my two boys ages 3 and 5. Which ones do you recommend? I would love for them to go for a couple days / week for 1/2 day. Are there any opportunities like that in the Arlington, McLean, Falls Church, etc... area?
Thankx for your help!

Default summer camps

I've just moved away from NOVA, but found the 'Parktakes' magazine very helpful - it has classes and camps run by Faifax county. You can check out their website Fairfax County Park Authority for links and to get a copy of the mag - the latest has camp details - have to register by Feb 7th.

Hope you find something!

Last summer my oldest son who was 4 at the time attended a Tennis Camp at Sport and Health in Skyline and he had a blast. I think they accepted kids as young as 3 as long as they were potty trained. There was a half day and a full day option. The full day was about 250$/week (30$ more for non-members). The camp was almost entirely sports oriented (tennis and swimming everday with other sports mixed in). I know there's a Sport and Health in McLean with a tennis club but I have no idea if they have a similar camp. He also attended a camp at the Arlington Montessori School (Arlington Montessori :: Summer Program) but didn't have nearly as much fun.

Not sure if they are still having it but I would be surprised if they were not, but Camp Greenway at Madeira School in Great Falls is excellent. I went as a child and have fond memories!

My kids have never gone to day camps (they seem to have gotten the impression that day camp = prison camp), but many neighbors sent their children to Camp McLean at the McLean Community Center with positive results. From what I can recall, the price is very reasonable. There are also programs at the Spring Hill Rec Center, Chesterbrook Elementary School (and the other area public schools), and some local churches.
The Potomac School, near the CIA, also has extensive day camps, but they are more expensive. Most other area private schools have day camp programs, usually open to both boys and girls even if the school is single-sex. Don't overlook schools such as Holton-Arms, which is in Maryland but just about 15 minutes from McLean right off the Beltway on River Road in Potomac.
It's NOT too early to register. People tend to plan their summers early around here.
