I'm with you. Short term parking for 1-3 days. For longer trips, I Uber.

I'm surprised by people saying they have problems with the economy lots. I've never had to wait more than a minute or two for the shuttle bus. Depending on where in the lot you park you might have to ride the whole circuit become it heads to the gate but there doesn't seem to be a shortage of buses in my opinion.

I always just took a Super Shuttle, if they still have those. Easy. And the airport never seemed all that busy to me. Maybe I've just been lucky. Just treat Dulles as you would any other airport.

I was flying every week out of dulles for two years. Makes me an authority maybe.

Avoid the economy lots at all costs. You could be waiting for 30 to 50 minutes depending on the time of day.

Take a taxi or get a ride to get dropped off right in front of the ticket counter. Dulles has the most efficient "Kiss and Ride" of any large airport I have seen. Early Sat morning flight...arrive 1.20 hours early. Security is more efficient/fast at Dulles then Reagan.

Like others have said... Saturday mornings can be super busy... I'd allow anywhere between 1 hour to 1.5 hour. It's better to be early than late. Also another thing that most travelers aren't aware of... most airlines start boarding 30 mins prior to the flight time. Your flight time is not when you're boarding... the flight time is when the airline expects the plane to close its doors and take off. I know this was news to me until about two years ago when I started traveling a lot.

Happy Travels!
