I think you're just pissed at your agent and trolling at this point.
Here's the WSJ article about the $10K returned from a listing agent.

Cutting the Commission - WSJ

Here's the website I'm using to petition a disclosure requirement for agent fees.

Petition Process*- Fairfax County, Virginia

I'm also looking into raising a fund on a kick starter website to push this thru using ffx county as a platform and mimicing it to other jurisdictions.

I'm still waiting on my email to zillow.

WSJ article is a paid version. If you can't see, PM me and I can send PDF.

Hmm....seems you are very busy trying to change the process; yet don't have the time to read your listing agreement or cancel the agreement with your current agent?

You might want to check your priorities.

I think you're forgetting the fact that I enjoy changing the process. This isn't my first rodeo.

The fee % is not important as much as the context of the work that is being done.

Funny thing is, I never would have gone and researched the average fee or the work volume in the first place if she never tried to get me to drop off the keys...

Yes when I bought a house I used a rebate realtor (I-Agent) and received $8k back which I put towards closing (seriously). Funny enough the seller's agent also received 1% so the transaction of buying my house was only a 2% commission transaction and it went of without a hitch (not sure what deal the seller had with their agent...I think they knew each other).

Anyway, I don't think an 11 year old WSJ article is very relevant though. I also suggest way earlier in one of these threads that finding a realtor willing to rebate part of their commission isn't that difficult, but you have to do it up front, not complain about it on the internet afterwards.

I don't care what % it is, if there is work done to support it.

Rather than lowering interest rates, lower the transaction fees associated with selling a new home. make the market more dynamic.
