I meant to say the commute from Lovettsville to Reston would be a nightmare. That would be the OPs commute.

My neighbor just sold his 3 bedroom house on .44 acres for under $500k in Ashburn. The trade off versus Round Hill is the smaller, older house. There are some larger lots in Ashburn Farm and Broadlands that may get to be up to .5 acre but they will be older and may need updating.

From my closest satellite RE office in Purcellville, I make it every time to our main office in Reston, off the Hunter Mill Rd. exit, in almost exactly 35 minutes. If I went there regularly from Round Hill (say, the middle of town), that might add an additional ten minutes. Hunter Mill is also the last Reston exit off of the Dulles Toll Road, before you start getting to Tysons, McLean, etc. As to homes and lot sizes, etc, esp within the budget you mention, you may need to compromise a little, but there are genuinely very nice homes close by. I think you'll be happy with that choice, and please feel free to ask any other ?'s and/or DM me.......good luck!

I also had a mistake in an earlier post. Route 287 and Route 9 are two lane roads (one lane in each direction); Route 7 is a divided highway with two lanes in each direction.
