I'm sorry if it bothers you, but I am opposed to paying for parking at that location. There are places where it makes sense. I don't think it makes sense there. Parking is not the product.

It doesn't bother me, at all, that you are opposed to paying for parking there, or anywhere. What bothers me is you called them charging for parking "stealing". It most certainly is not.

I think it is, in a sense, but it's okay with me if you disagree.

Stealing is when someone unlawfully takes something that you own. What makes you think you own the real estate where the parking spots are?

I own the money in my pocket.

yes, so anytime you purchase a good or service, with the money you own, they are stealing from you? Interesting philosophy.

You people clearly don't realize the tremendous value Boston Properties is providing here. I remember when the new condos next to the Accenture building opened, they called that area "Midtown". So I felt wonderfully privileged when I could then still park for free near the Upper West Side Panera, and under the wonderful protection of that guy in a security guard shirt carrying a walkie-talkie. And then the nightlife across town at Jackson's. All those middle aged guys talking about their mortgages and yes, there's even a woman in there. Sure she's working behind the bar, not sitting at it, but really is a romantic setting at that outdoor patio with a view of the parking garage.

Of course you have to pay to park at a special place.

Free parking at Tysons will end some time, too. They already have gates and machines at each entrance in Tysons Corner Mall. The Galleria may be a bit behind, but it'll get there. Maybe they are waiting for Macy's lease to play out, and perhaps also to see how popular the yet-to-be-opened Eatery is.

Parking is not a good or service, and not what I might go there for.

What people are complaining about is a commercial area......that, by their business plan, decided that they would not charge for parking for a period of time, in order to increase the commercial traffic.

Now, the business model has changed, and they are charging for parking. If you don't want to pay for parking; that is your prerogative...and don't patronize any of the shops in RTC. If so many people do the same, then the policy may change.

But the whiny..."It USED to be free, so it must ALWAYS be free" attitude rubs me the wrong way.

No offense intended but you seem to let a lot of things rub you the wrong way.
