Question Arlington & Sterling

I'm relocating to Arlington/Sterling area within a month. My job will be based in Arlington and will also require me to goto Sterling office once or twice a week. Would appreciate your advise on following:

1. Best area to live between Arlington & Sterling (considering safe neighborhood, apartment prices, commute, shopping malls etc.)
2. How much should I expect for a decent one bedroom apartment?
3. Any public transportation available?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Novamom06 will become famous soon enough
I think that anything along Rt 7 or the Dulles Toll Rd. between Sterling and Arlington would be a great choice - they are all very nice towns. You could go falls church (research the good neighborhoods), the Tysons corner area, Vienna, Reston, Herndon or Sterling - I'd stay by the Dulles town center and Cascades in that area. The cost will be lower as you go further out and the construction newer.

If you have some flexibility in your start time commuting to Arlington from Sterling is not that bad. I did it for many years - left Sterling at 8:40, jumped on HOV at 9:00 am and was at work in Arlington at 9:30.
