We purchased a house in Ashburn and we are closing mid July. The house is on quatrer of an acre and the owners have kept it up and have planted beautiful beds etc. I am concerned that I will not have the ability or time to keeping it like it is.

Does anyone know about how much it will cost me to hire a lawn service in Ashburn for the season?

I pay $55 every two weeks for mowing (1/2 acre). This does not include maintaining beds. I'm in Middleburg.

Usually it costs $25 - $35 per week to mow lawn. Plus if you want to fertilize your lawn and you want to hire a company to do that, then it costs anywhere from $500 - $850 per year, usually 5 to 7 treatments per year.

There are several companies do this. If you want a good price, you better check with your community neighbors or look around during weekends/weekdays to see if any lawn maintenance trucks are parked. You would probably see few different companies. You can call them up one by and find out deals on lawn maintenance/lawn mowing etc.

Thank you for the info. Is it common in Ashburn for people to use lawn services or are most people DIY

Mixed bag really. I live in a neighborhood where I'd say 90% use a service. I mow and maintain my own because I enjoy the exercise, and quite frankly, can take better care of my lawn myself than a service can.

But there is a neighborhood who's marketing appeal is all lawn care is taken care of via your HOA dues - Belmont Country Club.
