Question Good Schools/Good Neighborhood near Charlottesville

Hello everyone!
My husband may have a job opportunity in Charlottesville. I thought I'd better start researching the area. We are from Plymouth, Ma and we have two young children (7 & 9). Is Charlottesville a good place to raise children? Are there other neighborhoods close by with better schools. The schools and neighborhoods are our highest priority. Can anyone give me some advice? Thank you!

My mother lives in Charlottesville, actually Keswick, in the community called Glenmore. It is wonderful and there are a lot of families there. I do not know too much about the schools but know a few families that send their kids to the schools and they are the type of families that would not put their kids in bad schools.
Keswick is out 250 and about 10-15 minutes from Charlottesville, it is a wonderful place to live and my husband and I would move there if opportunities for his job were there, which they are not.
Enjoy!

You may also want to post in the general Virginia forum. Charlottesville may be in the geographically northern half of the state, but it isn't considered "Northern Virginia" to most locals, I believe.
