$1200 including all utilities for a room in a 2BR/2BA in Tysons? To me it feels high but compared to this area it seems okay?

Depends. In total or for 1 room in the apartment? In total it would be great.

That seems to be a reasonable cost for Tysons. Can you tell us what building or apartment complex it is? Building amenities such as parking, laundry facilities, onsite gym, security, can make it even more of a value.

I think its on the high end. For $1400, you can get your own 1 bedroom with garage parking/utilities.

$1200 for a bedroom in a two bdrm apt, it must either be very nice and the master or include something.

.

Really? Where? Seems low, but it would be good to know where you could get that cost.

OP clearly says "a" room which implies one room in a 2br. $1200 for that kind of split is normal if it's walking distance to the metro and you said it includes utilities. I'm not sure how you lower you could go really...I don't see you finding a split below $1000. If anything you could find somewhere to get more space//amneties for the money.

Did someone really think you're getting a get 2br for $1200 lol? $1400 with garage and utilities for a 1br still probably on the low end too I'd say $1600+.

Funny I was going to mention Gates of Mclean. That price is fine given that it includes utilities, which would likely be around $100 a month. Maybe see if you can negotiate to $1100 just to give it a try...

Ha, I rented an entire 1 bdrm apartment in Gates of Mclean on the top floor with garage parking for $1350. I talked the landlord down from $1400.

I moved out in the past six months after living there for two years.

Gates of Mclean, Regency, and surrounding apartments. All walkable to Mclean metro stop.

These aren't brand new apartments, but if that's what you're going for, have fun paying $1800-2000 for a shoebox with paper walls and paying $150 for a parking spot. A few of my coworkers live in such places and after spending time there, it really isn't worth the rent.
