Can anyone reccommend a low cost but effective traffic lawyer who can fight my red light ticket in PWC court?

Thanks

What you call "low cost" might differ from what the local lawyers charge. And bringing in an attorney that's in FX to a PWC court will not be cheap. Go local.

Contact the PWC Bar Association and see if they offer a list of attorneys willing to work pro bono or on a sliding scale for lower income clients.

Very unlikely on a traffic charge but you never know.

This area doesn't have low cost traffic lawyers like some other states do. There were tons of traffic lawyer offices where I grew up in the Midwest. Here you gotta hire a regular attorney to help you and it can cost you a lot.

Please explain the difference between a traffic lawyer and a regular attorney.

I remember traffic lawyer centers growing up in the Midwest. Everyone used them for traffic tickets and it was cheap and always worked. I don't remember the specifics of who those 'lawyers' were or what their credentials were but I know my parents used them all the time to bail out my brothers and everyone we knew used them too. My parents would visit their offices, located in strip malls all over the state, and hand over the original ticket and a small check ($50-$80) and that's it. They'd get a letter in the mail later saying 'Jonny's speeding ticket' was reduced or eliminated and that's it. It was really that easy and affordable. Maybe things have changed now. They still exist over there though. Cost of living is lower so maybe that's why.

That's all those centers processed - traffic tickets and they were always efficient and cheaper then walking into a regular law office and being billed an enormous amount per hour. When I moved to the east coast as a young adult and saw they were nonexistent here, I was a little shocked. When my husband's friend needed a traffic ticket reduced, he asked for a lawyer recommendations. When I told him to visit a cheap traffic lawyer center, he said he had no idea what I was talking about. That guy ended up paying $500 to a regular lawyer to get his traffic ticket charge reduced.

It is what it is. Folks back home didn't have a lot of money like they do here and maybe laws and regulations allowed such establishments. They're still there. I visit every so often and I still see them driving around. And the cheesy commercials flood daytime television daily.

A lawyer is a lawyer is a lawyer. They may specialize in certain areas of the law but in the end they are all still lawyers.
