Not that long ago a couple used book stores in the NoVa area closed. C&W out in Woodbridge, and a Used Bookstore on Duke Street that had piles of books.

For mainline bookstores, there's Barnes & Noble at Potomic Yard and Springfield. And used, there's still the The Book Bank in Old Town, and there's Hole In The Wall books in McLean, which is a bit far for me but when I'm in the area I can stop by.

Are there any other book options fellow NoVa bookaphiles could point me to? Overlooked places to get a reading fix in NoVa?

There's a small but friendly place in Leesburg on Market Street. It's called Books & Other Found Things.

A true old style book store in Old Town Manassas. I do miss stores like this since I've moved.

There's one on King Street, a couple of blocks east of the King St. Metro (towards Old Town).

There's a 2nd & Charles in Woodbridge. They give you next to nothing for your trade-ins. I don't like it nearly as much as I liked C&W.

Yea, that's my go-to for trade-ins, and the only one close to me I think.

Oh, I also hit library booksales- Sherwood Hall library and their twice-weekly booksale on the second floor especially, much better than most library booksales. They sometimes get really old/odd books you wouldn't see at most used bookstore, lots of ecclectic stuff (and if you've got old/odd books that most used bookstores wouldn't take, I recommend donating them there!).

Try for used bookstores in NVA, McKay's Used Books located in Manassas, VA. They accept used books, video games, new books, comic books, DVD(s), CD(s), and LP(s) for cash or credit for trade. They have a huge selection and also have a "freebie" wooden bin outside their store. They sell all the above-mentioned in all genres.

Their website is below--enjoy!

www.mckayusedbooks.com

Also, in Frederick, MD, there is another great used book store that accepts/sells used books, comic books, DVD(s), CD(s), and LP(s) of all genres. Their store is the size of a large grocery store with over 100,000 items to look at in their store.

Well worth the trip!

Website is below--enjoy!

Wonder Book: Over 2 million books/movies/music online and in-store. Since 1980. - Wonder Book

One other great website for booklovers is a list for all used bookstores and used book sales/and other media--great resource. The site lists library used book sales, estate/auction sales, and used bookstores, etc.

Website is below--enjoy!

Book Sale Finder

Also, there is a great resource from the Mennonites. It is where the Mennonites open their warehouses several times a year to sell used books that they buy in bulk lots from libraries, estates/auctions, bookstores, etc. as "remainders" and sell in their thrift stores as well as in their huge warehouse sales.

Great resource for every genre you can imagine! There are several locations in PA, MD, and VA.

See website below--enjoy!:

Hope you bibliophiles and "treasure seekers" enjoy the above-mentioned websites. Great also for cookbook lovers, fiction, non-fiction, history lovers, etc.

Nah, those that live close-in don't have time to read. They are working all the time to afford the close-in housing.

Del Ray seems like the type of place that would have an independent bookstore. Does it not have one?
