Aye...what ever happen to Epic Video in Herndon? It was located in the small plaza accross from Shoppers, and was next to the car wash and 7-Eleven? My guess in the owner went bankrupt and just couldn't compete with the franchises any longer.

Sad to say that IMO even Blockbuster in its present form may become a thing of the past as online and on-demand choices become more plentiful and convenient than brick-and-mortar stores.

mmhmm I agree. I haven't been to a video store in years once netflix came on the scene. I do like the Red Box at the grocery stores for new movies though. We tend to rent a lot of tv shows on dvd thru netflix. We would have gone broke just renting them.

Blockbuster is already doing the on-line, deliver to your door thing.

I didn't elaborate in my first post but yes, I have noticed that Blockbuster is essentially emulating the Netflix business model.

At the end of the day, it's just bad news for "Mom-and-Pop" stores like Epic Video.

True...true it's a crying shame that Epic Video went out of business. The gentleman who owned and operated the store was very nice. I wonder what he's doing now.

Was the guy who ran Epic video named Randy by any chance? If so, I think I knew him...
