Agree on Costco. They are the best deal you'll get. My parents use them and are very pleased.

You have to decide if you think the $60 membership fee for Costco is worth it, in terms of potential savings on other shopping.

The various eye exam/eyewear places often have sales and coupons on exams, you could check their web sites. My wife got an exam at Vision Works for $16, no insurance and no requirement to buy from them, but I checked now and they're not currently having a deal on exams. There's a $19 offer on GroupOn for a place in Vienna.

You didn't mention if you were looking for deals on glasses or not, but for an inexpensive option one could get the exam, ask them to write your pupil distance on the prescription, and order from a place like Zenni Optical. And of course, there's Walmart, JC Penney, and Sears optical.

Default Costco

I would try Costco. Not sure if you have to be a member or not, you don't for their food court.

I was just researching Costco to see if I could get prescriptions filled without membership (yes, I can) and found this link about additional non-member services. Hope this helps.

Thanks to those who suggested looking into services at Costco without a membership. Looks like eye exams don't require a membership.

Thanks everyone. I'm going with America's Best for their 2 pair of eyeglasses + exam for $69.95 promo.

The glasses you will be getting are available on Zenni for less than 10 per pair. Those exams are worth about 20. AR is free at zenni with promo code....no sales tax, either. I found Costco eyeglasses to be a ripoff.

Great tip! I've shared this information with individuals outside of CD.
