This is a good list. However, I've not been able to reach most of the parties by their phone numbers. When I happened to reach someone, either they would not accept a paralyzed person or their prices were higher than our budget. Yes, $5k sounds like the norm.

Have you looked into a full time nurse/ caregiver in your home?

I understand your concerns, and have been through a very similar situation. But you cannot get everything you want without paying through the nose. Sacrifices will need to be made.

But think of the sacrifices your parent made for you before you determine whether it is you parent's care or your inconvenience that will take the hit.
