Hey all,
Sorry if this is a repeat thread!
My fiance and I are moving from the far reaches of Alexandria to Arlington in October. He's Army and stationed at Ft Myer and I work in NE DC, so we want to stay in the Rosslyn/Courthouse/Clarendon areas to be close to his work and the metro.
We're in our early 30s but we're kind of homebodies. So many of the reviews I'm reading of buildings in Clarendon and Courthouse indicate that they're pretty loud and fratty, which would've been fun a few years ago but probably not anymore, haha. Can anyone recommend a building in this area that's NOT like that? We want to stay around $2k/month but can go up if necessary. Thanks!

I would look one stop back at VA Square. The area is clear of the frat houses of Clarendon and Courthouse. I'm unsure of the name of the buildings right next to the metro but the area is definitely quiet at night as an observation as a Lyft driver.

Maybe look into the View at Liberty Center in Ballston. Ballston has a better mix of demographics and I've heard the View is well built. I've also heard some of the condo buildings are surprisingly quiet for Arlington.

A common theme Ive heard about the Dittmar apartment buildings is that they have very thin walls and lots of young people because they're cheaper. I think I would avoid Dittmar which is like half of Arlington.

You'd also be surprised at the number of small independent apartments in Arlington. I would drive around.

All the condo buildings in Clarendon-Courthouse are quiet if you can find a unit in one of those to rent from someone.

I just moved from 1800 Wilson Blvd. It was a condo complex with many apartments for rent. Me and my gf loved it there, very quiet and peaceful but still close to things when we wanted to go to DC or hang out in downtown Arlington.

Maybe check into 2201 Pershing. It's a newer building at Route 50 and Pershing with a small market as one of the retail tenants. Sheffield Court, the neighboring complex is also managed by Equity Residential and has cheaper rents- but that also comes with a younger crowd and older units. Nice pool though that both communities share. The complex is right across 50 from Fort Myer although I am not sure who (if anyone) is allowed to access the fort from that entrance. It's a bit of a hike from the Courthouse Metro but is still within walking distance. There is also Metrobus service to Rosslyn.

We lived in a Dittmar in Courthouse and the walls are paper thin and hallway noise is a pita!

Vista and Palatine in Courthouse could be pretty good options in terms of what your looking for.

Thank you all so much for your advice! I'll definitely check out condo buildings - and stay away from Dittmar...
