Hi Everyone. This is my first day in my new place, new city, new state and I am finding that as soon as I cross north of 7 in the Cascades area I loss all bars/reception on my cell phone.

Has anyone else experienced issues in this area?
If you are in this area and DO have good cell reception, can you tell me what carrier you are using? (maybe I need to switch).

I don't have issues anywhere else just this "pocket"...but, it happens to be the pocket where my new house is!

Thanks for your feedback and thoughts!!!

I had trouble with Tmobile in Cascades when we moved here in 2009. No reception in house, no reception on our street, and in different areas.

Now have AT&T and no problems.

We have spotty cell phone reception around Mount Vernon and I've always wondered how that could be possible within such a short distance of the capital of the free world. It's an inexcusable and embarrassing testament to America's lack of attention to its infrastructure.

I've had AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon. I've had poor reception many times but I've never experienced ZERO reception anywhere in NoVA or the surrounding areas.

We live in Lowes Island and have Tmobile coverage and don't have any issues. Back in 2009 they added a cell tower at Great Falls Shopping complex that fixed lot of issues on coverage.

I live right near Cascades and have Sprint. I do get reception throughout the Sterling area, but I will say I recently have noticed a few days randomly where I will have NO service in my house at all. It's very strange - I wonder if they're doing some sort of work on a nearby tower or something. It only happens occasionally, not consistently, so it's odd. I usually have service just fine.

I am using T-Mobile. One of my neighbors has T-Mobile too and said they had issues with reception and had to get them to send a "repeater" (?) box. I will have to call them and ask to try that.

Thanks everyone

I think generally Verizon has the best coverage (data and cellular)
