Default The Single Life - Woodbridge compared to Stafford/Fredericksburg

Hi again,

Started a separate thread from my housing question IOT keep the responses separate. I would like to know what bars, dance clubs, and other hangouts each of these 2 areas offer. I'll be pretty busy during the week, but I'd like to know what they offer for the weekend. Thanks for you input.

I'd think most of the bars you find in either of those places are going to be the ones attached to restaurants. To meet singles, you'd probably want to head to Old Town, Arlington, or DC, all of which are much closer to Woodbridge than F-burg.

Each area will have it's own "feel"--What type of entertainment do you like? Or, are you just out "cruising"? and I agree--to meet more people, you'll need to go north!

I agree with pcity, there isn't much to choose from in either place, and they are rather nondescript, IMHO. Woodbridge hangouts include Oasis (night club), TGIFriday's (bar -- no, really) and Kilroy's (bar). You might like those or the pool-hall type places, depending on what you're into.

Actually, there is a sports pub in Lake Ridge called Brittany's - I lived in that area about 10 years ago and it was actually fairly hopping on the weekends, for the suburbs. Not sure what it is like now, if anyone else can weigh in...

Thumbs up What type of entertainment?

If it is a worthwhile alternative to driving all the way up to the Old Town/Alexandria/DC area, I'm not going to be too picky. Just want to know where to meet single people in a social setting. TGI Fridays?? Near Potomac Mills?

Supposidly they're going to be building a Capitol Ale House in downtown Fredericksburg... at least that's what the rumor mill has been churning.

There's a good amount of bars in downtown Fredericksburg though (That actually have some character).

I was a big bar hopper in my youth - but you know - I dont think bars are the best place to meet singles anymore....I would try the bookstore, health club or dog park - people are more into health instead of drinking and smoking these days
