Default best places to live for large family?

Hello!! My husband is being transferred to the Federal Triangle area this summer and we have 4, soon to be 5 children. Three are in elementary school. We expect to be in the area for about 3 years, so are looking to rent. We really need a minimum of 4 BR house, 5 BR would be better. We also have a dog so a small yard at least would be great! Is Chantilly too far out? Any places that we could look for a bigger house in a nice area (I know I'm asking alot!!) The most we could pay for rent would be $3000 a month.

Thanks so much!

It depends upon how long a commute your husband is willing to tolerate. I found several 5BR homes for rent in Vienna for under $3000K. Great schools (Madison HS pyramid), and your husband could take Metro from Vienna right to Federal Triange.

If you want a bigger, newer house with more bells and whistles, you'd be more likely to find it in Chantilly or Ashburn, but the commute would be significantly longer.

Thanks! He would rather not have a REALLY long commute (1 hr +) each way - I'll take a look in Vienna - a new house with the bells and whistles would be nice, but would rather have him closer and not go crazy with the commute

Thanks!
