moving to woodbridge
Were moving to woodbridge in 4/8 weeks and was wondering if there are any Chucky Cheeses/Zap Zones, etc in that area. I have an 8 year old girl and was wondering what was in or around Woodbridge to keep her occupied!!

There is a Chucky Cheese in the Potomac Mills area (Woodbridge) and many parks and an area called "Fantasy Playground". I am sure many will repond to your post and give you more input.. I just moved to the area and not as familiar with some of the areas around here (zip code 22192). However, there are many playgrounds and parks in this area. Very family oriented. Good luck and welcome to PW county!

On Meetup.com join the Prince William County Moms Club - they are a huge club with a great bunch of nice women who have an activity almost every day. It is a great group for working Moms also since they do have Meet-ups after working house.
There is also a couple of places where kids can "bounce" like "Pump it Up" in the Woodbridge area. Dale City Rec. Center is a great place to go
In the summmer there is a great waterpark for kids called Waterworks in Woodbridge.

Can you please tell me more about "Fantasy Playground"? I've tried googling it, but can't really find out things like
1) Where exactly is it (cross streets)?
2) What is there?
Thanks!

Its right near the Fire Station (across the street, I think it's OWL station 12). The address is 12298 Cotton Mill Drive. Hedges Run is the cross street. Hedges Run is located off of Old Bridge Rd (the main Road in Lake Ridge). Just look for the Giant food store and Hedges Run is on the North Side of Old Bridge. Go about 1/4 mile North on Hedges and take a right onto Cotton Mill (fire station on your left). The playground is huge, can't miss it.

Hi- There is also a Laser Quest which is a live action laser tag facility just across from Potomac Mills mall. Their website is LASERQUEST - LIVE ACTION LASER TAG AT ITS BEST!!!. Check it out! It's fun for all ages really, but an 8 year old will eat it up!

Has anyone held a birthday party for their child at Laser Quest? Opinions? Our son is turning 8 and we are trying to think of something in the area. He hasn't really had a planned party like this before. He is talking Chuck E Cheese, but we're thinking he might be too old for that. Thanks

One of my favorite memories as a child was in the supervised child drop-off play area at Ikea at Potomac Mills. There were tons of soft balls and such. I don't know if they still have this system in place (this was when Ikea was actually inside the actual mall itself). But if they do, you can shop and your child can play.

I have never been there but have heard good things from other parents. Little boys eat that stuff up.

The Explore and Moore kids museum on Occoquan road in Woodbridge is really cute. It has rooms set up like a doctor's office, supermarket, rocket ship, sand pit and it even has a small rock climbing wall. I've seen everything from babies to ten year olds there.
It's probably a bit too young for an 8 year old's birthday party. But still worth a visit.
