Hi,

I am relocating from South due to a job in Arlington, VA area.

I am looking for Single BR Apartments in and around Arlington, VA area that are in safe neighborhood. Max rental is/within $1400. I have my own car, so commute is not an issue.

Thanks in advance for any information that you could share, would be a huge help. :-)

Thanks,
Sandhya

When I lived in Arlington, I tried finding something within a reasonable price range but they literally were gone so quickly that it was easier to go with something newer and a bit more expensive since you then at least had time to tour, check out the building, etc.

Arlington (with the exception of Ashburn) is pretty much the #1 spot to live in NoVa at the moment so it's intense both on the rental and buying side. You MAY be able to find something within that price range but it's not going to be in the nice part of Arlington like Ballston.

My suggestion would be to keep your eye out and keep refreshing, the problem is when things in that range sporadically come up, they also go quickly.

I would look in Westover (zip 22205.) Solid area and very computable to anywhere. I know there are some rent controlled apts available there.

Could you please suggest few of the apartment names, since I am not familiar with the NoVA.

The most affordable apartments are along Columbia Pike.

It will be very difficult for you to find 1 BRs for less than $1400/month in Arlington, but here's a couple that I know of. Both are located within a block of each other in the 3700 block of Columbia Pike:

Westmont Gardens Apartments

Oakland Apartments

I moved into my current rental in Arlington last summer and because it was such a good deal I put the holding fee on it in MARCH, sight unseen. I had never done that before.
