What resources do you suggest parents with school-aged kids relocating to Fairfax County use when researching public schools?

Two resources come to mind:
  1. Great Schools
  2. School Digger

There are pros and cons to using either one of these tools.

Can you think of any other ways to research Fairfax County public schools?

Do anyone have any success or horror stories when it came to picking Fairfax County public schools using online platforms?

I second both of these, much more objective than reviews. Also, go to the schools website and see if you can find newsletters from the administrators and/or PTA to see what they are saying. Truly, what makes a school great is the administrator and the teacher in the classroom with the right fit for the child. What’s great for one family may not be great for another. Start with these resources.
