Default Elementary schools in Chantilly area?

What are people's experiences with the elementary schools in Chantilly? We moved to the area last year and recently bought a home in the Waverly Crossing neighborhood. We love it and the fact that we have access to Fairfax County's great schools. However, our street is zoned for Brookfield ES, and in doing some research I was surprised to find that Brookfield's test scores were on the lower side. I know the middle and high school we're zoned for (Rocky Run and Chantilly) are supposed to be excellent. Any Brookfield parents want to share their experiences?

Thanks!

There are some public housing projects in Brookfield's territory....that will pull a school's scores down, but it doesn't mean it's not a good school.

The same low-income kids go to Chantilly/RRMS. It's a "dilution" thing, I guess.

I drive a school bus out of Brookfield....you don't have anything to worry about.

Thank you. I've heard some negative things about the Brookfield neighborhood elsewhere, but aside from one or two streets near the Staples on Rt. 50, I can't figure out why. Sure, it's a little older and I know it has no HOA, but it seems fairly well-kept and quiet. And we absolutely love Waverly Crossing.

Anyone else want to share their experience with the elementary school?

I have a house for sale in Greenbriar, which is walking distance to the EXCELLENT Greenbriar West Elementary (as well as walking distance to Rocky Run and Chantilly High). Let me know if you are interested.
