This is a continuation from my thread Looking for some info on Triangle, VA dated 07 Oct 07. Well anyway I been back from my NoVa visit a little over a week now. In my post dated 7 Oct, I stated I would not visit the forum until I visited the area. Anyway for Nitrovic you were absolutely right the Triangle area is a little bit dumpy looking. Stonewall Manor development had some very nice homes but what you have to go through to get to them is not what I want. I am not here to bash where people live (Nitrovic you need to be a little more sensitive to people's feelings because most people don't want to here they live in a bad or ghetto area even if it is true). I also visited Woodbridge, Rt 1 side (Eagle's Pointe and Port Potomac) both very nice development. I was staying at Ft. Belvoir so I made it a point to travel all the way down Rt. 1 just to see the area. I have to admit there are a few shady looking spots. Overall my hubby and I did not like the way the area looked. By the way, I didn't think the area of Alexandria that I did see (near Belvoir) looked all that great either for all those who are hollering about how so wonderful Fairfax County is. Plus I went to that website that tells you the crimes with the little red bubbles and Fairfax and Loudoun County had just as many if not more crimes then PWC. Anyway we did visit the Ashburn area I thought it was too country although I didn't get to visit the side where Rt. 50 is like South Riding, Avonlea and a few other developments are. The area that we like most was Haymarket (Village of Piedmont), Gainsville (The Regents and Morris Farms) and an area off of Hoadly Rd (Victory Ridge, Small Crossing and Ridgefield Estates) on the border of Manassas and Woodbridge. There was one area we did not get a chance to visit Coles Run Manor. If anyone has any info on the area around there and what the subdivision looks like please post. Comments are welcome. Thanks

Sounds like you had a very thorough trip. I'm glad you found some areas that seemed appealing. Funny how everyone has a different niche. Please feel free to ask all the questions you'd like I don't know a lot about the areas you found most appealing, but someone is bound to... and I'll help out with the general questions.

Looking to move to the area....don't know much about it. Due to my hubby accepting a position with the Fairfax fire dept. Are there any apartment complexes in this area?

Did you go in and out of Belvoir using only one gate or did you check out different areas? Belvoir is huge so the area around the base are very different. I think some of the "hollering" about Fairfax county is about the schools. Hope you find something you like..

The Route 1 corridor around Fort Belvior isn't exactly what I would use to judge Fairfax County...

Fairfax County is the richest in the nation - most of it is 10 times nicer than PWC - you just visisted the worst part.
