I'm moving to the Centreville area soon and am very interested in renting a townhome. I currently live in Texas, and would really like to secure a place to live before I move. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best/safest townhome neighborhoods/communities? I am very interested in a townhouse located in Second London Towne West, which I hear is very different than the older London Towne. My primary concern is safety, and I would greatly appreciate any advice that you may have to offer. Thank you!!

If you're worried about your own Safety, then you should check out the lax gun laws in Virginia.

She's from Texas-land of the concealed weapon since 1992. She's probably better armed then you.

I would not live in London Town, no matter which part. The resale value on your house will not be nearly as good, if for no other reason than the reputation of the elementary school.
Townhouse neighborhoods that I'd personally live in include: Sully Station Little Rocky Run Compton Village Singleton's Grove Centre Ridge among others -- London Town is one of the only neighborhoods in Centreville I'd truly refuse to buy in. Good luck in your search! |

I would consider any part of Centreville "secure". You can check the Fairfax County Public Safety link below and see for yourself how "safe" an area is (be sure to read the disclaimer):
http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/gisapps...ce.aspx#police Yes, London Towne is a slightly rougher area than most in Centreville, but even so it is about as close to a middle class working neighborhood as you will find in western Fairfax County. I also have 2 kids that attend London Towne Elementary. There are some top notch teachers there. It's really not that bad. I don't think one is going to get a heck of a lot better out of a public school. |
