Hi,

My brother and his family lost their golden retriever on 9/6 at 6pm. He was tied up outside and he got caught up around a table causing it to fall. Somehow he got loose from the leash/rope and ran off. On Saturday a dog tracker came and tracked his scent. He didn't go too far from the house. The woman said he went back and forth like someone was trying to get him. She has reason to believe the person took him in their car. We have flyers everywhere in Purcellville where he was last seen. We went to all the local shelters and vets and gave them flyers. They will be on the look out. He does have a collar and his name tag is on there. He is also microchipped.

We are afraid now that this person might want to sell the dog or possibly keep it. He was last seen at the Philomont Community center. The center opens up tomorrow and we are praying that someone might know something. Otherwise, we will need to contact the police and file a report.

His name is Deacon, he's 1 years old, he's friendly but might be scared. We ask not to chase him. Be on the look out and feel free to message me.

I hope they find the dog. Be sure to post it on the Loudoun County Community Group on Facebook. I've been seeing several "dogs found" posts lately. Good luck!

Definitely do Facebook in the area. That seems to have a lot of success.

NextDoor.com has a lot of success with lost dogs in Reston. I don’t know about other areas.

Yes I have done all facebook groups and pages that I can think of and next-door app was my first thing that I did. Just trying to cover all bases. Its likely he was taken to be up for sale or worse, possibly for a dog fight. That's what the family is now thinking. If we don't hear anything by next week after we deal with this hurricane, we will file a report with the police. It's just scary to think what they are going to do.
