I did a search and the last entry was 2016 and there may be new places since then. Can anyone recommend a weekend Brunch Buffet. Lots of places have breakfast items on the menu to order, but we are looking for a buffet. The kids get a thrill out of picking from many selections. Any suggestions are appreciated....mostly around Fairfax, Springfield, Chantilly (Western Fairfax County) area. Thanks so much!!

If you want a beautiful drive and a cool old hotel head to Luray. Make sure you go through the mountains on 211 unless someone in your car is prone to getting carsick. The switchbacks really aren't that bad here though. Or just go 66 to 81 to 211 East. Still a few switchbacks here as well.

An excellent brunch buffet (complete with Omelets and Waffles) is the Royal Restaurant in north Old Town Alexandria.

I've also heard good things about Founding Farmers but have never eaten there. That is NOT to say that I have never waited in line there. Did once at Tysons and once at their location in Georgetown. Waited some 20 minutes in line, got tired of the wait and left.

If your kids don't mind more adventurous dining, try Hee Been Korean Buffet on Little River Turnpike near the Landmark Shopping Plaza. I love Korean BBQ and they have quite a selection. If your kids are of the "Eeewww if it's not mashed potatoes or Mac n Cheez or Hot Dogs we won't touch it" mindset then forget it.

Paradisio on Franconia Road in Alexandria/Springfield has a nice weekend Italian Buffet brunch. They have a lot of events for kids https://theparadisorestaurant.com/kids-room/

Cant speak much for places like Chantilly but there is now a Founding Farmers in Reston so I would assume they have a buffet similar to the one in Tysons. Tavern 64 in Reston not buffet but good brunch menu. Same with Jacksons. Springfield isnt western Fairfax but if you head up towards Shirlington you can go to Busboys and Poets for a rather large menu selection- no buffet but options. In Arlington there is Liberty Tavern or Whitlows both with buffets. There are other brunch selections in Arlington but they tend to get a little wild so wouldnt recommend with kids.

Salamander Inn in Middleburg does an excellent Sunday brunch. There's a whole table just for desserts. Beautiful room, reasonably priced if you're not drinking. After, you can take a walk around the grounds and visit the horses in the barn.

Founding Farmers is cool (either location) if you have never been but to us it got old fast. It is nice with a bunch of friends or family but the quality of food just isn't there but I suppose it is a buffet afterall.

JT Gilbert in McLean. Not fairfax city, but still in fairfax county. I haven't tried this restaurant but we passed them on our way to another place, and saw that it was packed!
