Internet only, I don't have other service.

I used to have $34.99 for 50MB/50MB for two years contract. I paid off modem at the beginning.

Now contract expired and my monthly payment is $54.99, it could go up anytime, since I am not on contract anymore.

If renewable another two years contract of 100MB/100MB, it will be $59.99 monthly fee, plus new cable modem $99 .

When is the best time to get renewable contract? Do they ever offer promotion for existing customers? It seems promotion always go to new customers.

Thanks.

If you have a roommate, consider cancelling and have your roommate sign up for Fios. Have your cancellation date scheduled to be the day before the "new" internet install so you're only out of Internet for a day.

I recently got Fios for 100mb for $39.99 per month, if I go paperless billing. There is no contract, and I bought my own router. I am a new customer.

Yes that is a standard deal even for existing customers. Verizon actually started playing ball with people since there is so much cable cutting (it used to be $85/month just for 25/25 and was actually cheaper if you added any TV).

I just renewed $49.99 for 50/50 on a two year contract as an existing customer with an expired one like you. They bumped me up to 100/100 a week later as a free thank you. If you have the Verizon modem with like a orange surround it works fine for 100/100 (higher than that you need the new one). For $100 (buy it don't rent it) might be worth it to just upgrade now at the same time.

Depending on how many people live with you they also offered the Gigabit 1000/1000 for like 80 or 90 I think? $150 installation fee since they need to change your box and run ethernet directly to the modem.

What if I don't have roommate? Can someone else still sign the contact for me? I mean someone else not living in Virginia.

Thanks.

You cannot really compare to the past, if you look even further to older day, at that time, most people are on the plan of 10MB or less. 10 years later, maybe most people will be on the plan of 1000MB or more.

No idea what you are talking about. 25/25 deal was.... two years ago. Verizon doesn't do 20 year contracts. What part of I just re-upped for $50 month was unclear?

Has anyone used www.cox.com ? If yes, how is it?

Are other internet providers recommendation for NoVA area? I think I am ready to switch to a different company for at least one year, since I am not able to get good renewable deal for current Verizon Fois service.

I hate this kind of business model, keep increasing price for existing customers, which make many people move around or make "roommate" sign up for internet service. I much prefer some kind of firm price lasting for many years, I don't mean they cannot increase price, increase is okay if it is some kind of inflation adjustment. I like my cellphone data plan, it stays at the price for years, they only increase data for free, from 2GB to 5GB.

Thanks.

Can a roommate use same Verizon modem to sign up as new customer (immediately following cancellation)?

Thanks.
