I was gonna post this a while ago...remember this restaurant? I found old menu at Mom's house..circa 1981.

All you can eat Alaskan Crab Legs - $10.99 and can work your way down. Kids under 6 eat free for any fish/chicken. Pitcher of beer - $3.25. Call drinks $1.95. Combo platter shrimp/crab legs - $5.29. Sorry the pic is a little blurry.

Ah, the good ole days. I remember CBSH was really slow at bringing out round two. But if you made it to round three, they brought all the subsequent rounds fast and spicier to get rid of you.

I remember it fondly! Start with the most expensive AYCE and work your way on down!

Seriously, when they first opened they were really good. As the years went on things started to change some. Remember they ended up going to buffet style along w/the AYCE and that's when things really changed. Then they were closed pretty fast without much warning. I never really knew what happened as I never saw anything written up about it in the newspapers.

Big place for us in the 70s. My parents would sit for hours with the crab legs. As a kid, it was quite painful for me but I do remember it being very good. By the mid-80s, they were definitely on the downslide and then just gone.

I went to the Waldorf location as a kid with my parents quire often. I'd finish, go play the arcade game pole position for a little while. I'd come back and my mom would be done and we'd walk over to the giant next door and do some grocery shopping. When we were done, we'd go back to the restaurant and wait for my dad to be done (he'd go through 12-14 bowls of the steamed shrimp). Ahhhh, memories...

They used to have lines out the door. I used to eat more than my weight I think in crab legs - they did just close up - no warning. Happy and Safe New Year everyone.

Man oh man I loved them too until they switched to a very low quality buffet style then closed soon after. The company is still around though. They are called the Chesapeake Restaurant Group and run the franchise operations for Chili's and On The Border.

I would eat Steam Spiced Shrimp until it was coming out my ears. On a side note. One of our officers arrested a manager of the Manassas one back in the 80's and I ran the BA. Very nice and talkative lady. I felt kind of bad for her. I asked if they lost money on anyone and she said they never did. You could not eat enough Shrimp or Crab Legs to make them lose money as they bought in such bulk at cheap prices. She said they did have one very big man come in and all he ordered was the Fried Chicken. (Go figure) He would eat so much that they thought maybe they didn't make any money off him.
