New Bathroom Advice
All,
The new townhouse we are buying is going to closure in less than three weeks. Yesterday, in an informal walkthrough we found that the builders have messed up the bathroom colors. We had asked for bone in all the baths (master had upgraded fancy tiles but a bone jacuzzi tub and sink).
However, the builders have made the Master and Basement bath white and the Hall Bath and Powder room Bone.
Ideally, I would have wanted all in the same color. If I ask them to change now they are asking for the closing date to be pushed by a whole month which I definitely do not want to do.
My question - Is it OK to have two bathrooms in the house in Bone and two in white? Sometime down the road, if we decide to sell will this be a problem?
Thanks

It's really a matter of preference. It could be a problem, and others might not care. I'm not sure that I would care but then again, all my bathrooms are the same color. Other people might not notice. Sorry I coudn't offer more advice, but it is really up to the individual and if they really like your townhouse, I don't think it will matter.

I don't think it matters. In my parents' house all the bathrooms (3 full, 2 powder rooms) are different, and I never noticed it as something odd.
Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between white and bone?

We purchased a TH this past summer and it would not have bothered me if some were bone and others white. Just neutral colors and taken care of.

I would leave the fixtures and tile as they are and do ask for some kind of discount--as the above poster suggested! No--it's not bad to have different colors, but it's not what you requested, so they owe you something! Actually, you'll probably be quite happy with the differences when you start decorating!

To me, white and bone makes no difference.
I wish they would build homes with exciting bathroom colors again -like the colors we grew up with

I wouldn't worry about the subtle difference in color, but I would make sure I was compensated by the builder!
On our last house, they messed up on the tile too but to our advantage. The house was built while we were overseas so we didn't see it until it was completely done. They had put in ceramic tile in the half bath rather than vinyl. We didn't say a word. Never figured out why they did that. It did force us down the line to put the same tile in the bath across the hallway because it just looked odd that one had vinyl and one had tile.

Ah ok, thanks! And I agree with the others - it's not a big deal as far as re-selling, but if it's not what you wanted you should be entitled to some sort of compensation.
