What are popular NoVa area websites that allow searching for homes by -- school, subdivision, proximity to address... etc.? Thanks.

I don't think I ever found one website that offered it all. I liked homedatase.com to look-up homes by zip code and see virtual tours. The Long and Foster website was helpful for searching for specific neighborhoods. Trulia.com is very good for looking at homes for sale and homes that have sold around a specific address. I'm blanking out on what I used to search by specific schools. I do know that homedatabase and L&F show the school pyramid for listings, but you always have to verify that info with the county.

Redfin worked well for us. It will email you updates if you want it to, and has lots of info on the pages. You can search by map, zip code, etc.

The link below seems to work wel for us. It tells you how long it has been on, you can search based on street, subdivision, county, MLS or you can do a detailed search to look for only certain schools, specific age etc.

Home Search: Select County#

www.mcenearney.com is good. So is www.mikesellsvirginia.com. On that one, you can put in the specific schools you're interested in although, as mlv311 said, you need to double-check the results with the school board.

I like ziprealty.com because you can search for homes with reduced prices as well as see how long every home has been on the market.

I noticed homesdatabase no longer gives addresses. I like zip, also. The proximity feature is excellent.
