Default Miralux Mattress from Sleepy's - Good or Bad??

Hi,

Today we ordered a Miralux Mattress from Sleepys. We went to their store, tried it for a bit, liked how it felt and got talked into ordering one. I kept saying that I was a little nervous since I had never heard of the Miralux brand before.

When we came home, I googled reviews for the Miralux brand and am reading awful things. Overall it had a rating of 1 out of 5 and people had very bad things to say about the quality.

Has anyone here bought the Miralux mattess or knows anyone who has? What are you hearing about it?

I can cancel the order anytime before April 30th because they will deliver only on May 2nd. Right now I am leaning towards canceling the order.

Please advice.

Thanks!

Update - We cancelled the order and instead bought one from Costco.com for the same price but it was at least a known brand.

No one responded on this thread which convinces me that Miralux isn't a brand anyone would recommend. Most probably haven't even heard of it.

Thanks!

The minimal quality polyurethane foam used in the top comfort layer of most innerspring mattresses rapidly degrades, resulting in body depressions. Although it requires mattress "surgery", replacing the top foam layer is one option . . JC Penney . . FoamByMail.

Miralux mattresses are made by International Bedding Corporation, a business started by a former executive from Stearns and Foster. This product line is usually used as a "house brand," as also are matresses made by Symbol Manufacturing.

The upper products of both manufacturers are constructed on decent, but budget quality, spring sets and carry 10 year full exchange warranties. Products lower in the lines are generally intended for intermittent use (e.g., guest room) or children's use.

I have sold both brands and find them quite acceptable products for their appropriate usages.

The trick is not to be pressured into buying something, or into paying too much for it. I believe in educating the customer, so that customers can choose intelligently the product that is right for them.

Have a good day,
Mattress Expert

Thumbs down Miralux is awful

My mom bought an almost $4000 king-size Miralux and after a very short time -- less than three months -- there was visible sagging on both sides of the bed where my parents sleep. After sleeping on it myself for one night, I woke up with the familiar backache caused by unsupportive mattresses. My mother also has terrible backaches upon waking in the morning and has never received sufficient customer support to address the quality if this product. She was told that it didn't sag "enough". If you are thinking of buying a Miralux, DON'T. Spend the money on something like a Tempurpedic.

Both my mom & I bought Miralux Mattresses, hers is a little firmer than mine (she's had a back injury). We both bought Queen size and they've been great so far. They have a warranty so if next year i feel like i'm sleeping on cotton balls...they'll be hearing from me. But so far it's good and I got a great price much cheaper than i thought because my salesperson worked with me. No pressure at all...I actually wanted a Kingsdown and she helped me be more realistic!

Default Don't buy Miralux

Don't waste your money on Miralux. This miralux rapture mattress felt good in the store, but after actually sleeping on it for a few nights, we wish we had our 7 year old mattress back. This was a big mistake for us and we got talked into it at Slelepy's. The mattress industry plays lots of games & tricks, as there is no real way to compare. My advice is to stay with a name brand and if possible, buy from a reputable department store or furniture store. After my first complaint, when the mattress was only a few days old, Sleepy's told me to wait a few weeks for the mattress to "break in" and of course after the 21 day return is up, they won't take it back. Even if returned within 21 days, they charge $400 and you lose your bargaining position for another one. The price tag in the store was $2600 and we got it for $1000. It was no bargain and we're going to give it away or throw it in the trash.

Mattress warranties are useless. They never work, so forget that.

Go to a reputable store, like Macys. They have great sales, on brand name mattresses. They also have good salespeople who know what they're doing and can answer questions. We bought 3 new mattress sets, 6 months ago, a King set and 2 Queens. Macys delivered when they said they would, set up the beds, and they've been great.

Sleepys sales people get paid a higher commission on Miralux therefore will recommend it. I would be leary about Macy's because the salesperson does not go through the mattress training as would a Sleepy's employee. I prefer Stearns and Foster or Kingsdown myself. And just an fyi Sealy owns Stearns and Foster. Sealy has some excellent mattresses too.

Default Miralux Miracle

Wow, not sure it is the same Miralux that me and my wife bought. We love ours, I am very large - over 300lbs and am really glad that the salesman recommended Miralux for me. Thanks Sleepy's
