The rentals in the Springfield/Burke area have been going pretty fast. If you'll be in the area for a few years, you may want to consider buying - especially if you have a dog.

I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the neighborhoods in the Robinson, Wakefield, West Springfield and Lake Braddock school districts. Maybe you can have a Realtor fax you a list of neighborhoods in those districts.

Why is the rent so high for that house?
Funny, I thought that house looked HUGE. I guess I've been living inside the beltway too long.

I think that house is $3,000 because it's just outside the beltway (so relatively close-in), sounds like it has some updates, and there is a very small inventory of 5br houses available for rent close in (or anywhere). I don't think it is a rip off, particularly if you need a 5br, but you probably could do much better if you drop down to a 4br.

slim04 - you are right - it looks smaller than it is - it says 3,300 sq. ft. and that is large by my standards - it just looks so small to me from the pic.
I live in a much smaller house so what am I talking about.
