Depending on where your jobs are located, the Burke/West Springfield area is also a good place to look. IT is a very good field to be in around here!

Welcome to Virginia. You might encounter some people who tease you for being Texans, but I doubt you'll encounter problems with racial tension. The only color people seem to care about around here is how much green you have in your wallet.

Meanwhile, our traffic does cause plenty of tension... so I would choose a town near your job. Reston, Herndon, and Eastern Loudoun County are all areas I think you would like.

FWIW, my family is racially mixed (black/white) and we've always been comfortable in Cascades.

I would also recommend the northern part of Sterling...the Cascades and Potomac Falls area. I don't know how diverse it is, but it is a very nice, safe neighborhood near parks and pools and all that. It would not be a gread drive into DC (not a bad on either) for the more cultural happenings, but it is a very close drive to Herndon.

I think there is a bus that goes from Cascades to DC, but not quite sure where it stops.
