Hello!

I am looking into purchasing a townhome, particularly in the beltway. The current market is slim pickings and there is one townhome that is lovely but it sits right between interstate 495 and a train track. It is within the community called the Townes at Cameron Park in Alexandria, Va. While viewing the house I could see both a train on the train track (that wasn't moving at the time we were there) as well as a sliver of the interstate. It was around 3:30pm, and I could hear a bit of road noise in the guest bedrooms as well as sitting in the living room-- which definitely concerned me.

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with these homes and might be able to speak into this a bit more. Does the noise get worse as it gets closer to rush hour? Does the train cause disturbances? Particularly, does the train ever blow its horns? What does it feel like at night?

Thank you for helping with this. I would never want to pour our life's savings into a home only to hate living with the noise!

If you have some info on that development, would you mind posting some of it? Even if its just some small info. Thanks!

I do not have any information on that development. But, I live close by and am well aware of the noise problems affecting it, which was the main concern of the original poster. That's why I messaged the poster directly.
