I was looking for some places in the northern virginia area and I looked at some homes in Piedmont South in Gainesville, Can anyone tell me about this area the schools, the shopping, the entertainment, is there any other new area around gainesville that are family friendly nice neighborhood maybe newer communities. I was looking at Gainesville and Mcclean but found gainesville you get more for your buck!!! Also how far is fredrickburg from gainesville i will have to travel once in awhile to fredrickburg. I 'm not working in fredrickburg but herndon just wanted to know when I have meeting at or other office how far it is?

That whole area is awesome. I would live there but I HATE traffic, and that area has it in droves. The shopping and the schools in the area are very good, low crime as well. If you want to be closer to Fredericksburg you can try Warrenton as well. Very good homes and a nice area. I would pick either over Mclean. Like you said, you get A LOT more for your money. And a tad less traffic. Fredericksburg is about an hour and twenty minutes away. You can go 29 south to Rt.3. I would try to stay off of I95 at all costs, it's a mess.

I saw a 4/2.5 in PS for 274K; it's a beauty. It would be 674K in McLean.
