Hi there! I am relocating next month for employment in Winchester. I am a single, mid-30's, professional female.

Which city is better to live in? Any suggestions on apartments/condos/townhomes for rent in a safe, quiet and clean area?

I appreciate any helpful information. I have a lot to do in such a short amount of time.

Kindest regards,
Christine

Take a look at this one. I like the area and pass by this development often. I don't know much about living in it, but you should investigate it. It would be quite close to where you will be working.

You can't get much more safe than Stephen's City. They usually have a VERY good crime index.

Sorry, I have to disagree with that. While the OP would be fine living in SC, there is crime there...robberies, etc. I cannot comment on the specific developments she has mentioned, however, she will be working in Winchester City and although SC is not far from there...I believe she can secure living quarters closer.

Considering there was one roberry, zero murders, and four assaults from 2001-2006 I wouldn't call that very bad crime....... That is from a six year period mind you, most areas have that in a week much less six years. That's almost unheard of in this area. Can't get much safer than that.

This is where publicized statistics are inaccurate. I am a local..and there were WAY more than one robbery in SC. SC has seen a rash of robberies over the last year, which are not reflected in your statistics that only go to 2006. There was also an attempted child abduction and a man who blew up himself in his house.

I wish I had chosen SC over WINC a long time ago. SC has more stores, etc., now than it did and a quick ride along 37 to the hospital. I think you get nicer people in the county and more for your money.

To be honest, Stephens City is a little farther away from the outlets (i.e., grocery stores, movies, etc.) but you really can't get much safer than SC. It is a small, comfortable place, and the homes there are nice and inexpensive.
I hope this helped you.
