Lovettsville
Please spend 1-2 mins writing somethings down about this place... we are considering buying a home here... The homes we are looking are in New Town Meadows....
Prices are good.
Let me know about the people, places to eat, shopping, crime, folks in the area.... ANYTHING that we don't know...
We are from out of Town... WE love the prices and we are prepared to try and make this thing work...IF we can??!!??

It seems as though you made up your mind already on lovettsville so writing down our comments wouldn't matter. The only thing I can tell you since I'm not from Virginia but passing through Lovettsville on business and being African American myself I wouldn't feel comfortable in that town not because I felt any racial tension, it just wasn't anything out there for my family to do far from everywhere and I wouldn't want my child to be the only black in the school district and it was very far from our jobs. I wish you luck whatever you decide. A home is were the heart is you can make anywhere/anyplace home.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

I agree with LifeIsGoody. You have another post going on this and you got people's opinions, but it seems you want to do it no matter what. Only YOU can go there and visit and see if you like it. You need to see the traffic during the times you and your wife will be commuting. Restaurants? In Lovettsville? Are there any?
Why wouldn't you want to investigate IN PERSON? If you are coming from out of town, it makes no sense to buy ANYTHING in any town without checking it out entirely first. Like I said before, your chances for resale are slim at this point so you better makes sure it suits your family. People have made some good suggests on other threads...rent first and see if you like the area....then buy.

We all wish you luck!!!! That's good you are doing some investigating yourself hopefully everything works out for you. By the way if your only objective is low prices on a home you can move anywhere I would think you would want to know more about the town besides it having good deals on a home!!!!!!!

Yes, price was mentioned various times. There are many other places to live that meet your needs, are diversified and have good prices.
Don't forget to picture your kids at various stages in their lives. Their needs will change....will Lovettsville meet them?

It's really difficult to buy a brand new SFH in this area for $300K, like you can in Lovettsville.

The point was that the OP seems to be harping on price...and has other criteria that are more important. I don't want them to get hung up on living someplace that only satisfies their idea of an "awesome" price so much that they neglect their REAL needs and the needs of their children. I said "good" prices, not necessarily $300K. They seem to be starstruck on the great prices and only want to hear the good things to justify living in a place that may not accept them.

We checked the area out today....
WOW...Very nice... People were friendly... New Town Meadows had diversity.
We would defnitely be happy with our children growing up in this diverse neighbourhood.
WHAT A GEM!!!
When the market returns to normal. The prices in that area will sky rocket!!
